Interior painting

Interior painters in Palestine and Tyler

Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and the drywall repairs underneath, finished in Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore.

Chapter 01

Where an interior paint job really fails

Most interior paint jobs that disappoint were lost before the first can was opened. Dust, kitchen grease and old hand oils keep new paint from gripping. A crack that was only painted over comes back through the finish. A wall rolled in patches shows every lap mark the moment afternoon sun rakes across it.

That is why interior work for Palestine and Tyler homes starts with the surface, not the color. We clean what needs cleaning, fill and sand what needs filling, and mask the trim, floors and fixtures before a roller touches anything. Smooth, even coverage that lasts is built in that early work, and no amount of paint on top makes up for skipping it.

Ceilings are where streaks and lap marks like to hide. We keep a wet edge moving across the whole plane instead of stopping mid-ceiling, so the finish dries as one sheet and the room reads clean from every angle.

Cutting in trim, patching drywall, matching texture

Trim and baseboards take patience more than speed. We mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, then lay multiple thin coats instead of one heavy one, because thin coats level out smooth and wear better than one heavy pass. Interior doors get the same sequence: prepped, primed, then finished so they hold up to daily use.

Cracks, holes and dents are no problem. We patch drywall, then match the texture around it with the tools and techniques we carry for East Texas walls, so a repair blends into the surface around it instead of sitting there as a smooth, shiny rectangle under the paint.

An accent wall is the same discipline with more attention on the edges. A bold wall in a bedroom, living room or office only looks intentional when its lines are razor straight and its color is even from corner to corner. We guide you on which furniture to move beforehand and cover what stays with plastic sheeting and drop cloths.

Chapter 03

What the room is like afterward

We use low-VOC paints when possible and ventilate while we work.

Most modern paints have minimal odor and are safe in an occupied home. Most jobs run one to three days depending on the size of the project, and you get exact timing at the walkthrough, before anything is scheduled.

Unless you ask for something else, the paint is Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore, chosen to be washable, long-lasting and easy to touch up. If something isn’t right when we finish, we make it right, and the details are written into your estimate and walkthrough.

“Chase Lomax and his crew did an exceptional job of treating and painting our large wooden paneled living room. They were punctual and even returned to promptly take care of two minor problems.”

Wood paneling or drywall, the method holds. Cabinets and built-ins are their own craft, so those are on the cabinet painting page. Doing the whole house at once is on the house painting page.
